The Shepherd Hill Marching Band proudly represents the communities of Dudley and Charlton. During the fall season, the band competes throughout the New England area in addition to their local performances at home football games. Band rehearsals are held after school. The 2008 fall show is titled "Peace, Love and Hope". This show will be performed at home football games, as well as at M.I.C.C.A, NESBA and USSBA band festivals. The band will also be travelling this year to Annapolis, MD to perform at the Navy - Marine Corps Memorial Statium for the United States Scholastic Band Association National Championships. The band this year is under the direction of drum majors, Jocelyn Bugan, David Moulton and Brian Montville.
Winter Percussion is an activity for percussionists to challenge them and to strengthen their skills. It is also an opportunity to give others a chance to play a percussion instrument. The group travels throughout the month of March to NESBA shows. The group is under the direction of James Flynn and Josh Szymanski.
The Winter Guard perfoms choreography, flag work, rifle work and saber work to put together a show performed in the gymnasium. The group travels throughout the state during the months of March and April, competing in NESBA and WGI shows. The group is under the direction of Greg Bussiere, with show design by Leonard Machado.
The Jazz Band is a select ensemble that takes pride, not only in their outstanding musicianship, but also to their commitment to others in the community. Each year the Jazz Band performs at nursing homes, Shriners Hospital and for the Center of Hope. This year the Jazz Band is under the direction of James Flynn.
